I am Education Director of GPnotebook Education – a new series of primary care update courses for all primary care professionals including GPs, GP specialist trainees, medical students, practice nurses, nurse practitioners, nursing students, pharmacists and paramedic practitioners.

I am a GP Educational Supervisor and have been actively involved in medical education for over 15 years. I have been elected to Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners, the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and also the Academy of Medical Educators for my contributions to medical education and diabetes.

Kate Chesterman
Part-time salaried GP in Wymondham Medical Practice near Norwich

I graduated from The University of Birmingham in 2005 where I was also part of  Birmingham Medical Research Expeditionary Society. After foundation training and time in New Zealand I returned to do my GP training in the Wessex area. As part of this I obtained both MRCGP and MRCP qualifications as well as Diplomas in Child Health and Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

As a newly qualified GP I helped to set up a local “First 5 group” to support ongoing CPD for myself and local colleagues. After working in Hampshire, I spent a year in Canada getting to grips with a different health system and style of working. I subsequently settled in Norfolk and have recently enjoyed assisting my practice in the introduction of remote consulting through digital triage and telephone consultations.

Outside of work, I am a keen cyclist and enjoy long-distance sportives.  I am also a mum to two young and very active children!
